GRIDTECH – An international Exhibition
and Conference provides an international platform to manufacturers/suppliers/academicians/consultants
to showcase their State-of-the-Art products and technologies in the field of Transmission,
Distribution, Smart Grid/City, Renewable energy sources integration, Load Dispatch
& Communication. This biennial international event provides a unique opportunity
for the Power Utilities, Manufacturers, Research institutions, Academicians, Consultants
etc. to get exposure of emerging technologies in the above fields. The conference
provides atmosphere for candid exchange of ideas/experiences with International/National
manufacturers, planners, policy makers, regulators, academicians, experts on new
technologies in these fields.
NEED FOR NEW INITIATIVES
Indian power sector has witnessed
manifold growth in the past while the road that lies ahead is dotted with many challenges
to deliver quality and reliable power at the doorstep of consumers. To achieve high
projected GDP growth rate for India, development of all facets of Power Sector is
essential. With focus on increasing generation capacity, the corresponding investment
in the transmission and distribution sector is also to be augmented. The Govt. of India
plans to strengthen National Grid with close to 300 GW capacity and about 65 GW
of inter-regional transfer capacity by 2016-17. Towards sustainability,
emphasis has been given to harness renewable energy sources like wind, solar, biomass
etc. in large capacity.
Power generation resources both
conventional and renewable types in the country are unevenly distributed. Right-of-way
issue, increased requirement of inter-state power transfer, environmental concerns etc.
calls for development of efficient high capacity transmission corridors integrated
with emerging technologies. Growth of meshed network would bring complexities in
monitoring and operation of grid in terms of change in power flow quantum and direction
in the regime of open electricity market, wide variation in supply & demand etc.
The situation would become further complex with integration of large scale intermittent
and variable renewable capacity. All these poses challenges in terms of grid security,
reliability and stability under different operating conditions. In distribution
side, AT&C losses have reached to an alarming level. Other aspects like reliability
in supply, power quality etc. as well as visualization and situational awareness
of energy consumption pattern/price to both utility and consumers, need for energy
conservation etc. also require due attention.
To address above aspects, it is
prudent to introduce intelligence in all fronts of power sector viz. generation,
transmission and distribution through real time forecasting, smart metering and
monitoring, operation and other control applications of intelligent smart grid technologies
integrated with communication technologies.
GRIDTECH2013 : 4th International Exhibition and Conference
Looking at all the above important
issues, POWERGRID with the support of Ministry of Power and in association with
CBIP and IEEMA is bringing its 4th International Exhibition and Conference GRIDTECH2013 from 3rd to 5th April 2013 at ITPO, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on new technology
in transmission, distribution, smart grid/city, load dispatch & communication. The
exhibition and the concurrent summit will be an excellent global networking opportunity
for exhibitors, visitors and delegates. It will provide an opportunity for all companies
to showcase their Transmission, Distribution, Smart Grid, Load Dispatch and Communication
expertise and know-how and to identify business opportunities in the electricity
market in India and abroad. Recognising the importance of development of smart grid
/ city for sustainable development, space provision has been kept for showcasing
real life working of Smart Grid/City covering various functionalities by the exhibitors.
Towards indigenous development of
technologies in the above fields and also channelize the development of emerging
technology by the student community, a separate “Students Innovation Pavilion” shall
be setup to enable student community and academic institutions in India to demonstrate
working model of various new technologies in Indian context.
The event shall be attended by the
International/National manufacturers, utilities, planners, policy makers, investors,
consultants, academicians, research institutions etc. It would also provide an opportunity
to the exhibitor to launch new technology product, for which a well equipped presentation
room shall be made available.
Parallel to the GRIDTECH Exhibition,
two concurrent conferences for 2 day each are also been organised on 3rd and 4th
April, 2013 focusing on the State-of-the-Art Technologies and emerging trends in
the field of T&D, smart grid/city as well as synergic areas like load dispatch,
telecommunication etc. and UHVAC 1200kV system. The conference on UHVAC 1200kV
is being organised in association with CIGRE,Paris.
A 3 day International Exhibition
on the State-of-the-Art technology in Transmission & Distribution, Smart Grid/City
and synergic areas like load dispatch, telecommunication, application software etc.
developed/being developed by reputed International and National manufacturers shall
be showcased to the users, utilities, policy makers, investors, consultants, academicians
etc. for their awareness, appreciation and benefit of overall power sector. The
exhibition shall be held on 3rd to 5th April 2013 at Hall No. 8,9,10 & 11 of ITPO, Pragati
Maidan, New Delhi, India.
